National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)
The NDRC is a macroeconomic management agency under the State Council, which studies and formulates policies for economic and social development, maintains a balance of economic aggregates and guides the overall economic system restructuring.

Encouragement of industrial innovation R&D
This gives information on implementation of relevant measures by the Government and also contains information on assistance and guidance provided by Government for enhancing innovation.

Knowledge Innovation Programme (KIP) Pilot Project
The Pilot Project of the Knowledge Innovation Program (KIP) was formally initiated in 1998, and will be completed by 2010. It is divided into three phases: the Initial Phase (1998 - 2000); the Phase of All-round Implementation (2001 - 2005); and the Phase of Optimization (2006 - 2010).

National High-tech R&D Program
The objectives of this program during the 10th Five-year Plan period are to boost innovation capacity in the high-tech sectors, particularly in strategic high-tech fields, in order to gain a foothold in the world arena and to strive to achieve breakthroughs in key technical fields that concern the national economic lifeline.

IED is a non-government and non-profit organization committed to the capacity building exercise through education, research, and ICT applications.

State Office of Intellectual Property Rights Office of the P. R. of China
In order to further strengthen the IPR protection, the Chinese government has set up a National Working Group on Intellectual Property Rights Protection.

Beijing Venture Capital Co. (BVCC)
BVCC is a leading Chinese venture capital firm since it was founded in 1998. BVCC invests in high-quality companies in three principal areas: information technology, environmental sciences/life sciences, and material sciences. Since its operations, BVCC has invested in excess of RMB 300 million (US$40 million) in over 40 portfolio companies.

China Venture Capital Association
The China Venture Capital Association (CVCA) is a member-based trade organization established to promote the interest and the development of venture capital and private equity industry in the Greater China Region. Currently CVCA has close to 100 member firms, which collectively manage over US$100 billion in private equity funds.
