UK based technology transfer organiastion offers the technology of Optical Proximity Sensor (OPS) for Safety Applications on behalf of its Finalnd based client. This patented, ready to market product is designed for safety applications in situations where moving parts can occasionally cause danger to operators, e.g., a collision detection device for Automated Guided Vehicles. MiPS’ unique feature is that the form and colour of an object don’t have remarkable effect on detection distance i.e., black objects can easily be detected. The Finnish company, which has developed OPS, designs and produces high quality customised electronics applications for demanding environments. It awarded the ISO 9001 quality certificate in 1999. In 2003, it was also awarded the ISO 14001 certification for environmental management systems.
