Process for the Synthesis of Z 3- halo -2-styryl/vinyl Chromones as Therapeutic Agents.
The present invention discloses a process for the synthesis of isomeric forms of 3- halogenated -2-styryl/vinyl chromones from 3- hydroxy-2-styryl/ vinyl chromones. The synthesis of Z 3-halo-2-styryl/vinyl chromones involves a halogenating agent in dipolar aprotic and protic organic solvents without the use of catalyst under ambient conditions to produce high yield of Z-3-halo-2-styryl/vinyl chromones.
