Betel Extract for Treatment of Different Malignancies
The present technology provides use of extract of Piper betel leaves along with pharmaceuticals acceptable additives for the treatment of human malignancies (several kind of cancers) of different origin by inducing oxidative stress. The said extract induces the elevation of ROS preferentially in the cancer cells thereby causing cytotoxicity and eventually death of these cells. Being specific to high ROS it only targets the cancer cells and doesn’t harm the normal cells of the body. The said extract in form of a composition can be administered through oral, intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous route. The technology has shown proven efficacy in the in-vivo testing on nude mices and found to induce apoptosis and necrosis in the cancer cells.
