Accordingly, the present technology provides biologically active derivatives of 4- ethyI-5-alkoxy-primaquine and its process for the preparation to offer an improved means for the chemotherapy of malaria. The derivative has a unique blend of broadspectrum activity against the blood as well as tissue stages of the human malaria parasites. The present technology is at pre-clinical stage.
