The Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organised a workshop on Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management within the Circular Economy Concept from 25-26 April 2024. The workshop was jointly organised with Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), Thailand.
The specialized training sessions focused on waste-to-wealth technology transfer, empowering participants to effectively transform waste into valuable resources thereby enhancing STI capabilities in municipal solid waste management, emphasizing with focus on waste-to-wealth and waste-to-energy approaches. It envisages to strengthen regional connectivity cooperation among APCTT members, sharing successful models such as community solid waste banks and promoting sustainable education.
Participants from government bodies, local communities, academic institutes, entrepreneurs, SMEs and civil society organizations participated in the workshop.
