Description

This laboratory-developed immunochromatographic test strip uses an antigen-based approach to detect anti-interferon-gamma antibodies in serum. Test and control lines provide a visual readout.
The test-strip prototype was evaluated under laboratory conditions using positive and negative pooled serum samples. Separately, the underlying double-antigen sandwich ELISA method was evaluated using serum samples from 20 patients with adult-onset immunodeficiency and compared with indirect ELISA. These findings support further development, but large-scale clinical performance, regulatory authorization, and commercial deployment have not been established.
The technology is intended for further development to support the assessment of patients with suspected anti-interferon-gamma-associated adult-onset immunodeficiency. It should not be presented as a standalone diagnostic test for immunodeficiency or as a measure of disease severity. Further clinical validation is required.

Cooperation Sought
Joint research and technology transfer are sought. Potential partners include in vitro diagnostic manufacturers, biotechnology companies, clinical laboratories, hospital research teams, and research institutions with immunoassay and diagnostic-validation expertise.
Collaboration may cover further clinical evaluation, diagnostic-kit development, and manufacturing. Any licensing or technology-transfer arrangement will be subject to confirmation of territorial rights and approval by the relevant rights holders.
Benefits of the Technology
1. Provides a visually readable test-strip format for detecting anti-interferon-gamma antibodies in serum.
2. Has the potential to simplify testing and reduce dependence on specialized readers.
3. May support decentralized testing following clinical validation and applicable regulatory authorization.
4. Provides a foundation for further diagnostic-kit development, clinical evaluation, and manufacturing collaboration.
Areas of application
1. Anti-interferon-gamma antibody detection
2. Adult-onset immunodeficiency research
3. Clinical immunology and infectious-disease research
4. In vitro diagnostic-kit development
5. Potential decentralized testing following validation and regulatory authorization
