Remediation of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soils
Our partner, a Hungarian SME has developed a new procedure for remediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soils. The aim of our partner is to utilise different compost-based end-products and organic secondary raw materials which are not suitable for agricultural use. The aim of the company’s research was to develop a brand new complex technology which is based on the following elements: 1. enhancing bioavailability of organic micro-pollutants 2. application of various organic and inorganic nutrient amendments during the aerobic phase I. and II. processes 3. utilisation of end-products from composting and aerobic stabilization plants 4. immobilization of organic and inorganic micro-pollutants by using composted or stabilized secondary raw materials
